The Technical Institute and Free Library as was on Grove Road Eastbourne





















The image above shows the Technical Institute and Free Library 1904, Eastbourne, East Sussex

It was built at the junction of Grove and Orchard Roads on land given by the Duke of Devonshire and supported by a donation of £10,000 from Andrew Carnegie, the Scot born American millionaire.

The majestic building contained a Free Library, Museum, Municipal Boys' School and School of Art. It was destroyed by bombing in WW2.
